Anna's Archive#
Anna's Archive is a free, non-profit shadow library meta-search engine created by an anonymous team of documenters (i.e., Anna and/or the piracy library mirror team). In November 2022, they decided to establish Anna's Archive after learning that U.S. authorities had shut down Z-Library.
The team stated that Anna's Archive transcribes data from the Open Library's metadata, backs up information from various shadow libraries, and provides information about International Standard Book Numbers, but it does not store any infringing works—only metadata that the public can obtain through other means. Its official website states that Anna's Archive is a non-profit organization but accepts donations to offset costs.
As of November 1, 2023, the official website of Anna's Archive claims it is "the largest open-source open data library in the world," with a collection of 22,052,322 books, 97,847,390 articles, 2,451,032 comics, and 673,013 magazines.

Z-Library#
Z-Library (abbreviated as Z-Lib, formerly known as BookFinder) is a shadow library and open access document sharing project where users can download journal articles and various types of books from this website. According to Z-Library, as of June 12, 2022, it has a total of 10,456,034 books and 84,837,646 articles. Z-Library claims to be "the largest digital library in the world" on its eBook search page and refers to itself as "the largest repository of scientific articles in the world" on its article search page. It was originally a mirror site of the Genesis Library and obtained most of its collection from that library. However, some of its collection is uploaded by users and is not part of the Genesis Library's collection. The platform's public domain was blocked by the U.S. government on November 3, 2022. On February 11, 2023, users were able to access Z-Library again.
